"Brett Wong's Ex-Girlfriends" is a bite-sized camp horror comedy short conceptualized and written in August 2023 by director Gianna Labinpuno while listening to nu-metal albums during the wee hours of the morning. It was then pitched as a senior capstone project for California State University, Long Beach and was chosen for production along with nine other projects. With influences from cult films such as D.E.B.S. and Mean Girls, as well as iconic slashers like Child's Play and Scary Movie, "Brett Wong's Ex-Girlfriends" aims to highlight the irreversible effects of generational trauma in an Asian-American context and the consequences that come with it, all while having a good time doing so.Completed in May 2024 and having premiered at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center the same month, BWEG is currently in the festival circuit with four official selections thus far, making its festival debut at The Broad Humor Film Festival in September. We hope to see you around!

Captain of the debate team and organization fiend, Cheryl Huh made her mark on Fortuna High as the best teen orator that's ever graced its campus. She gains the trust of the masses with the snap of her fingers, but of course, not without the occasional skeptic. In her free time, she curates the debate team's Instagram feed and does pilates on a daily basis. She excels in school, with math being her strongest prowess, but don't let this perfectly curated persona fool you--this academic talent didn't harbor from birth, but rather from the constant pressure from her family. She lives a double life that separates her true self from the passive image her family perceives her as. As a result, she kept her relationship from Brett a secret from them, and to an extent, the rest of the school society. He didn't like that. And some say she dated him out of pity. But that's just a rumor. And that's about all we know.

Junior gold medalist and Fortuna High's best track-and-field sprinter, Lea's future was set. Of course, that wasn't until an encounter with her then-boyfriend made her permanently limped, destroying her future on such short notice.Lea's competitiveness in track didn't exactly translate to her hobbies outside of class. She bears an artistic side that she keeps to herself. In her free time, she writes music and lyrics, sometimes creating fake album covers for her work.(???) She kept a low profile outside of sports, though. She enjoys metal and emo rock with the occasional acoustic track, but she doesn't want people to know that. As an avid music fan, her mom lets her attend concerts, but since her injury, she usually stands in the back with somewhere to lean on. A shame since she used to partake in moshing.
